Symphony of the Universe - Companion Soundtrack got its start in an unusual way. A few years back I was contacted by a British magazine company to compose some "chilled electronica" for their deep sea diving DVD magazine. I undertook the task and the song was approved but to the best of my knowledge the project never got off the ground. Fast-forward to mid-2008 and my friend Molly A. Durst asked me if I'd consider doing some companion music for YouTube videos she was planning to release to promote her comic book series Symphony of the Universe. I decided to dig up the song I did for Fathom 1 DVD and re-worked it to better suit Molly's project. As time went, I kept returning to Molly with new ideas and compositions and eventually the idea of releasing an actual soundtrack was born.
