GM's Gallery: Useful and Interesting NPCs

We've all been there: all of a sudden, you realize that you probably should have realized that your PCs would wind up charging the palace guard instead of talking it out with the vizier, and really wish you had stat-blocks for the fight. Or it occurs to you that, really, the wizard apprentice that they're rescuing from demon cultists should probably be trying to help in the fight, too, since his life is on the line, and everything. It's just that you don't know what his attack bonus is, and his level's a bit fuzzy, for that matter.
GM's Gallery: Useful and Interesting NPCs provides a total of 20 NPCs from CR 1 to 5, with stat-blocks that were designed to allow them to fill specific roles that GMs often find themselves needing, such as innkeeper, street urchin, brigand, town guard, and so on. Further, in order to keep things interesting, each stat-block has its own unique special ability, specifically designed for the role that NPC is supposed to fulfill. The whole package is rounded out with a brief tactics entry, which gives some suggestions not only for battle tactics, but also for roleplaying NPCs of that type.

Pyromancers Tower
Publisher: Arsenale ShipworksThis impressively tall tower is built from massive grey stone blocks. The ornately carved trim around the doors and windows is crafted from a fine white stone that gives the entire edifice a subtle yet elegant demeanor. The tower is capped by a steep roof covered in bronze tiles that reflect the sunlight in a burst of color resembling the scales of a dragon. Inside, the tower houses the Pyromancer's Guild, a group of wizards devoted to study of all magics pertaining to the realm of flame.
Arsenale Shipworks renders its maps in black and white with simple, yet detailed line drawings. Our idea is to give you a thought provoking and inspiring encounter location without draining every drop of ink from your printer. The relatively small file size also makes our maps ideal for importing into virtual tabletops!
This map set is designed with a 1" grid suitable for use with most 25mm - 28mm miniatures and RPG game systems and is set up to print on 11" x 17" sheet size. Included are detailed maps of the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors. For your convenience, print files have also been set up for letter size paper that can be joined together to make a full map. Additionally, an identical set of full sized maps has been included with the labels and text turned off to make it easy for you to customize your own unique encounter location.
Several extras have also been included; a sketch of the exterior of the tower to be used as a handout to players, a section through the Tower, and an Index with a short description of each area.
