0one's Blueprints: Domain of Blood - Blackraven Buildings

0one's Blueprints: Domain of Blood - Blackraven BuildingsPublisher: 0one Games

The oldest building of the village is the church. It sits atop Blackraven Hill. The legend tells that an older church did exist, even before the Castle was built, but this one was burned down by one of Lord Drakes’ ancestors. It is said that the old remains of the church still lie in the belly of the hill.

The cemetery is also very old, maybe it was built just after the church. It never increased in size, remaining exactly as it was. People of the village say that the don’t need more tombs because dead men often walk away on their own.

Other relevant buildings include the town hall and the jail which is also the sheriff’s house and office.

Small farms are scattered all around the village. On the northeast border the Merchants’ Square can be found, here merchants caravans are allowed to stay for one night or two, the time they need to sell their goods.

If you wish to purchase all the Domain of Blood products at once plus some nice extras you can head to the Domain of Blood Virtual Boxed Set©

ULTIMA RATIO REGUM 2nd edition grand tactical wargame rules (1689-1763)

ULTIMA RATIO REGUM 2nd edition grand tactical wargame rules (1689-1763)Publisher: AGEMA

ULTIMA RATIO REGUM 2nd edition are a set of grand tactical wargame rules for late 17th to mid-18th century wargames (1689 – 1763) with the emphasis being on maneuvering and campaign aspects. What does this mean? Well the rules allow for spying, assassination, stirring speeches and the rules of war as well as the usual mechanisms for playing a wargame!

The sequence of play begins with any artillery shooting by either side, then one side moves and issues orders, then combat is resolved, and the next side then has a go (in other words, You-go;I-go).

Armies begin in march columns, so scouting plays a part in the tabletop wargame to discover where enemy forces are. Each column is represented by an officer figure until it is spotted so you really don’t know what the enemy’s doing until your patrols see them!

Orders are used, and the possibility of marching to the sound of guns included. Allowance is made for brigadiers disobeying orders as well!

All in all a very different set of rules for grand tactical battles.

Space Stops: Spungo's Bar

Space Stops: Spungo's BarPublisher: Fishwife Games

Spungo's Bar is the first of Space Stops, a series of detailed locations for star age, science fiction gaming. This particular establishment, like many of the planned series products, focuses upon the seedy underbelly of the greater galactic society. In Spungo's Bar you will find a rough and rowdy spaceport bar full of wonderful scumbags for the characters to encounter. The surrounding atmosphere is as equally grimy and gaudy, from the flickering, static ridden images of holographic dancers to the offerings of high octane beverages, crummy junk food, foul smoke, loud, mediocre sounding music, and the occasional death threat.

Setting Information

The Space Stops series, Spungo’s Bar included, are designed to be set in a star age, “space opera” science fiction genre. Such a setting could either recognize the existence of Earth or be set in an entirely different galaxy altogether, Homo sapiens and close humanoid stock species are referred to as “Terrans”. In such a setting it is expected that one will find regular interaction between Terrans and a wide variety of sentient aliens and/or bio-engineered life forms. Robots with quasi-sentient like personalities are also common, as well as many of the other elements that one would expect to find in such a star faring setting. When needed, the GM should free to add, modify, or remove elements in this product to make the information more compatible with the campaign setting.

Background

Spungo's Bar is a filthy, vermin infested place destined to be a perfect drinking hole for seedier space stations and star port cities. Spungo's is the kind of star faring dive that you can rely on when you want to visit the kind of place where you can get drunk fast, have your things stolen, contract some festering social disease, and be threatened by some wild eyed criminal brandishing a laser pistol. In short, Spungo's Bar is a place for cheap booze, good times, and fake friends.

Included with this product is a map of the establishment, details of the map's locations, and information regarding important character encounters. There's also a bit of information regarding food and drink to be found at Spungo's and other such establishments as well as some adventure hooks.

#1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Death Mage Feats

#1 With a Bullet Point: 4 Death Mage FeatsPublisher: Super Genius Games

Sometimes rules supplements read like the world-setting bible of frustrated novelists. While solid world-building is a useful skill, you don’t always need four paragraphs of flavor text to tell you swords are cool, magic is power, shadows are scary, and orcs are savage. Sometimes a GM doesn’t have time to slog through a page of history for every magic weapon. Sometimes all that’s needed are a few cool ideas, with just enough information to use them in a game. Sometimes, all you need are bullet points.

#1 With A Bullet Point is a line of very short, cheap PDFs each of which gives the bare bones of a set of related options. It may be five spells, six feats, eight magic weapon special abilities, or any other short set of related rules we can cram into about a page. Short and simple, these PDFs are for GMs and players who know how to integrate new ideas into their campaigns without any hand-holding, and just need fresh ideas and the rules to support them. No in-character fiction setting the game world. No charts and tables. No sidebars of explanations and optional rules. Just one sentence of explanation for the High Concept of the PDF, then bullet points.

The High Concept: Four feats designed to augment the options and utility of death mages (from The Genius Guide to the Death Mage) or, if death mages aren’t being used in a campaign, that can be taken by alchemists of the reanimator archetype, clerics with the death or repose domains, oracles with the bones or dark tapestry mysteries, undead-bloodline sorcerers, necromancy-specialist wizards, witches with a death, occult, or plague patron and (if the GM wishes) summoners who have an eidolon with the undead appearance evolution (replacing death mage levels prerequisites with a class level prerequisite in the appropriate class).

The feats included are:

Tower of Terror

Tower of TerrorPublisher: David A. Ullery

This Tunnels & TrollsTM mega-solo adventure is 98 pages long with over 50 pen & ink illustrations, most never having been seen before. Every page has at least one illustration on it.

Tower of Terror takes place in an old wizard's tower that has been sealed off, and is now currently used by the worshipers of Ophion, the serpent god (aka Set). Expect many slithering snake-like opponents as well as a bunch of regular type of enemies to overcome. Much treasure is to be had as well as attribute enhancements.

There are two ways to play: you may go through 16 short individual adventures, or for longer more advanced play you can go on the "Trip of Terror" involving the 16 original as well as two others for a total of 18 adventures.  Some lower level spells are allowed, but this is mainly for warrior/fighter types. While most of this is for second level characters or higher, there are a few easier adventures in Tower of Terror. Also more than one may go through at a time, but you will need to multiply the opponents by the number of adventurers (naturally).

Pages can be printed out and inserted into generic game master screens available at local and online hobby stores or clipped to screens from other RPGs for use during SECRET FIRE game sessions. You can also save each of the six pages as a 72 dpi jpeg for use on iPads, iPhones, or other tablet or mobile devices.  In addition, the file was created for full-page bleed, so depending on your printer, you may have to shrink it to around 95%. Forged over the course of a decade, THE SECRET FIRE, which emphasizes rolelaying and exploration, is a game of creativity, flexibility, and limitless imagination, in which three-dimensional characters set out on daring quests into the dark and dangerous unknown. It's a DriveThruRPG bestseller and was ranked #2 out of the Top 5 Gifts for Tabletop Gamers for the 2011 holiday season by The National Examiner.

“A flavor-filled approach to fantasy gaming that puts the mystery and magic back into the dark recesses of the dungeon.”
